In
order for us to be able to print your image, we need it to be in certain
format(s). Vector format is the best (see below.) If you had your
image or logo designed for you by a professional artist, they should
know what this means and be able to provide you with a vector file.
If you don't have a vector file, we just need to make sure your image
is large enough (see below.)
VECTOR
FORMAT (.pdf, .eps, .ai)-
If you are a graphic artist, you probably
already know what this means. If you give us finished vector artwork,
we will not be required to do anything further to make your artwork
ready to be printed. The file formats we accept are .pdf, .eps,
and .ai. Please make sure to covert all text to outlines before
sending your image to us.
If
you are not familiar with vector graphics and are interested in
learning what they are, read on... Vector graphics are made up
of many individual objects. Each of these objects is defined by
mathematical equations and has individual properties assigned
to it such as color, fill, and outline. Since these objects are
defined by equations rather than pixels, a vector image can be
scaled to ANY size and retain perfect image qulaity. Vector graphics
are usually created with programs such as Adobe Illustrator or
Corel Draw.
200
DPI Bitmap Image (.jpg, .gif, .psd,
.tif)- Artwork should be
200 DPI at the actual size it is going to be printed. That means
a 10" wide chest image should be at least 2000 pixels wide.
Art files should not be compressed in any way. There is no magic
we can do to make a really blocky jpeg look sharp. Our print can
only be as good as the original image. Images at resolutions down
to 72 DPI mightstill look okay, but "okay" is not really
our goal. An image at less than 72 DPI would probably be unacceptable
as a final image, and we would most likely have to recreate the
artwork into an acceptable format.
